Judge Chuck Silverman
I am Chuck Silverman, and I am honored to serve as Judge in the 183rd Criminal District Court. My commitment to integrity, fairness, and criminal justice reform is as strong as the day I took office, and I plan to continue challenging the status quo and demanding justice for all.
Prior to serving as Judge, I practiced law for 30+ years in state and federal trial and appellate courts. I also worked as General Counsel for a multinational corporation. As a result, I have a deep understanding of how the legal system works, and more importantly, I have learned who to convene and how to intervene to make change happen.
Since my election, I have led the charge on felony bail reform. Because of my leadership, there is now traction to revise a system that has historically disproportionately affected the poor. This is one of many areas I am proud to say we are making great strides.
I hold Law, M.B.A., and undergraduate degrees from Tulane University. I grew up in Texas and have lived in Houston for more than three decades. Serving this community is my passion, and in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, cycling, shooting skeet, and sporting clays.
